One.
There is a very defined line between what happens in character and out of character. What goes on in RP is strictly events that happen between two (or more) OCs and has no relation to myself as a player. A majority of my RP tends to take place via discord due to my hectic schedule. In the event that RP and OOC messages happen in the same chat, they must be distinctly separated.A little bit about myself as a player: I'm Kokuton and I have been in the RP scene over various sources and medias for about 15 years. I am a full time esthetician and part time wine educator during my day to day. I started playing Final Fantasy XIV back in 5.4 and partake in almost every variety of content it has to offer.
Two.
A majority of the themes surrounding Mazerin require a mature audience, and therefore I am not interested in role-playing with anyone under the age of 18. That goes for both players and characters. This does not apply to minor characters like children and such that may be related to the main OC.This is completely non-negotiable, I really do not care how mature you think you or your character act. I have many adult themes in my own life and really don't feel like having those questioned. Should you feel the need to lie to me, when I find out the trust I will not hesitate to cut whatever interactions immediately.
Three.
I am open to allowing the RP to shift or lead into whatever direction it ends up, so long as it is not forced there. Whilst things may lead to something salacious, I'm not interested in a partner for Maz. She is already in a committed relation, and while my RP partner is fine with me messing around with others, I have no intention of replacing him.Along those lines, I also refer back to Rule One when I say that RPing with me wont get you anywhere closer to me as a person. I am in a wonderful, happy, four year relationship with the love of my life. You can either be happy for me, or see yourself out.
Four.
There are times where RP interactions may need to take the back burner in favour of taking care of IRL. Whilst I believe real life problems should always take priority before RP interactions, all I ask is that such things are communicated for extended leaves. I don't require personal information, but at least a message explaining that a reply may not come for a day, week, whatever.There is not limit on how fast or long a reply has to be, so long as effort is being put in. I work quite often, so sometimes in the middle of days I am unavailable to give replies, that doesn't mean to hound me in hopes of getting one sooner.
Five.
Under no circumstances will I tolerate any form of metagaming or controlling of my own characters. I would much rather shorter replies if you feel unable to move forward without my own input rather than decide how Maz may react yourself.I have no interest in RPing with anyone who chooses to metagame information their character is not privy to. If you want specific interactions to happen where rumors or information may have traveled, that is something that can be discussed, but not guaranteed. Reading my carrd is not a reason to know all about my character and her history.
Six.
Whilst I am willing to be flexible with the theming and storyline of RP, there are still certain things that I prefer. I personally am more lore compliant in most attempts with Maz, and therefor don't think my RP style or story fits well with the more out-there type of lore breaking OCs. This is not to say I wont interact at all, though I do not foresee many long term storylines likely to happen. The same goes for extremely strong or powerful characters; I have nothing against your OC being the WoL, but it doesn't work for me.Always feel free to take a peek at the hooks to see if there is something that might work for your OC, or reach out and we may be able to work on something.

Alduin rem Vyxiz
Relationship: Brother.
Her brother in all but blood, serving as her closest companion, brutal sparring partner, and deepest confidant. Since the day the Xaela was brought into the family, they had both bonded over the similar treatment they faced outside their Legion. It was left to him to keep the youngest Vyxiz safe and stable after an unfortunate passing. Maz went to great lengths to see to it that her family is never mistreated in or out of the empire.
Mitsuomi Kurokawa
Relationship: Lover.
Even after one of the worst first impressions the woman has ever had, he is still the one that claimed her love. Whilst the two live in practically different worlds, they have found an escape in each other in-between all of the work and dealings. Though the yakuza boss still has much to learn about his dearest, he would still draw his blade for her at a moments notice, only asking questions later.
Mugetsu Murga
Relationship: Practically Family.
A precious soul and capable hunter that is close with the Vyxiz family, and a fine baking partner when Maz requires assistance in the kitchen. Their unique friendship is one that would surprise most, as it is rare to see the Garlean act so warm to anyone. Though the bubbly bunny brings out the best in her dear friend, serving as a gentle reminder of what little light the world still offers.
Argyros Murga
Relationship: Complicated.
The husband to her best friend, a man who by all means is just as much a part of her family as the Viera herself. Though her now sworn protector once was someone far closer to her heart than the Miqo 'te would ever admit aloud. Now he can be no more than a close friend, ally, and a blade when she needs one. There are few who have seen the assassin at her lowest, but the knight can claim such a feat and more.

A closed off Garlean with a rather obscure past known by few, this aloof cat is far more than what meets the eye. Traveling to wherever her work might take her, with the occasional pleasure of returning to her home in Garlemald, she does all she can to keep busy. Before the fall of the Empire, she served as Tribunus of the IXth Imperial Legion under the direct command of her father, Felix van Vyxiz. Whilst her role within the Empire spanned past her responsibilities within the Legion, they are stories she holds close to the chest, and rarely divulges such secrets. Mazerin is a proud Garlean, though unlike most of her kinsmen, she is not as close-minded in matters of beliefs. While there is no chance of changing her mind in matter of religion or war, she does not hold other's animosity towards the Empire personally. Despite all of her strife, she keeps her head up and emotions buried, pushing forward each day on dawn at a time.
History.
biography Born of an officer and immigrant citizen, half Miqo'te half Garlean, Mazerin Vyxiz was the youngest daughter to the family with one older half-brother. During her early months, sickness struck her mother, claiming the miqo's life and leaving the older Garlean Tribunus twice a widower. Raised without a mother, Maz had only her brother and father to look up to and learn from. Despite the Vyxiz family's wealth and influence, Felix made sure that she maintained proper decorum; instilling the child with manners and humility as best she could. Once old enough to hold a weapon, the next thing she was taught was how to fight, starting with small arms and swiftly proving her affinity for combat.As her talents grew, so did the attention on her, garnering a certain gaze more than others. Mazerin was assigned to the reaper unit and placed under the direct instruction of the leader of the team, Mikhail tol Volkov by Emperor Solus's orders. The disgruntled man was less than fond of having a small miqo girl follow him about and challenge his patience, though the apprentice slowly grew on him. Their unit carried out any assassinations the Emperor assigned them, never failing a mark. Their work pressed on unwavering until the sudden death of Solus, bringing their assignments to an abrupt halt.By Varis' orders as high Legatus, she was assigned to serve him directly, playing the role of a shadow to do his bidding during the bloody civil war. Mazerin's assignment was kept secret and her identity hidden as she became Umbra Mortis, a faceless assassin that the Emperor sent after those who betrayed the Empire or sought to stand in his way during his race for the throne. With two positions, she learned to balance two lives completely separated from the other. Few and far between knew the Vyxiz girl was the blade behind the soon to be Emperor.Despite everything, the young assassin still made time to spar and train with her older brother whenever they both had the chance. The pair were practically inseparable when they could help it. Maltheal meant the world to Mazerin, and she was his as well. If not for the clear difference in appearance no one would ever know that pair were only half siblings, their connection so strong. It was due to his strong sense of understanding and empathy that brought the eldest child to remove a Xaela from his unit in Ala Mhigo and have him transferred into the IXth. It took little for Alduin to prove himself not only a good soldier, but also a good friend to the Vyxiz family. It was her father's decision to adopt the au'ra into their family, not only giving him proper citizenship, but also a sense of security and a home.Work had always kept her busy, though the teenage Miqo found time to spend with her brothers. Missions within the legion usually kept them close, though you couldn't always have three officers in the same place. When tensions rose in Bozja, the IXth was sent out to aid the IVth. Mazerin and Maltheal were sent with a unit to help quell the situation and better prepare the Legion to handle the next. Upon arriving in the region, Mazerin was met by a familiar face and a change of orders. Rather than joining her brother in their original assignment, she and her teacher were to take care of the root of the problem plaguing the IVth and threatening Varis's final grasp on the throne. Whilst Maltheal and the rest of their unit pushed on, she stayed behind. The two reapers made easy work of cleaning up their messes, carrying out the assassination with ease. Though when the young Vyxiz returned to her unit, she was met with devastating news. During the IXth's task of shutting down any insurrection and securing the city, her brother was killed in combat. In attempts to keep civilians safe and casualties to a minimum he was lethally struck whilst defending himself and non-combatants.Despite her repressed emotions, the assassin struggled to hide her grief as she returned to Garlemald. It was her who had to deliver the news to her father and Alduin, barely able to maintain her composure. It was too easy for Mazerin to blame herself for her brother's death, for she should have been there beside him. A deep depression sunk into her as she stepped back from her duties in the Legion, leaving Alduin with triple the tasks as he made up for all three positions. Her adopted brother became her main support as she focused all her grief into violence, the pair sparring everyday.It took time for her to come back to the Legion, but her role as Umbra Mortis never ceased. One kill after the next came and went like the rise and fall of the moon as Varis finally claimed his role as Emperor of the Garlean Empire. Once more she balanced her dual lives as she continued her role in the Legion, learning her new task that came with filling Maltheal's rank. With no one left after Solus passed to pursue the conquest of Eorzea, the XIIth was left to its own devices. Unfortunately, Eorzea seemed a challenge too great for one Legion alone as Gaius van Baelsar lost to their newfound resolve and the Praetorium fell. IXth was assigned to pick up the pieces left behind from the XIVth and recover any lost soldiers. It was during such an assignment that the young Vyxiz discovered the former Legatus's secret that he still lived.Displeased by such a prominent officer's failure and furthermore by the lie, the emperor ordered Umbra Mortis to track down the family friend and kill him. Despite her opinions on the matter, she was a loyal assassin, unwilling to deny Varis' order. Setting out, she wandered about, tracking the Black Wolf as he made his way throughout Eorzea. Though it took some time, Maz was able to hunt down the former Legatus, finding him camped out in Gyr Abania. Unfortunately, Gaius was ignorant to the identity behind the cowl of Umbra Mortis, so when her assassination attempt failed and turned into head on combat, the younger Garlean stood little chance. Striking for the kill, he narrowly missed Maz, instead his gunblade scoring her face and maiming her eye. It was only after she fell in defeat that her identity was revealed and Baelsar spared the life of his old friend's daughter.Left to return, with both her vision and her pride robbed from her, Mazerin stood before the Emperor to report her failure. It took weeks for her wound to heal, though her eye never recovered, its sight permanently lost. The weakened orb became a further hassle as she learned to work around the newfound light sensitivity as well as the aether intolerance. Tricks she had learned from Mikhail before no longer worked as she learned to fight with half her vision. Months passed before she could return to her post as Umbra Mortis, but her failure never left her mind. The scar was concealed as she tried to hide the shame it carried from all to see.

Garlean Pride
Requirements: None.
Whilst she once made an effort to conceal her identity, the miqo'te does not hide the fact she is Garlean any longer. There will be those accepting of such information, as well as those who would rather see the woman harmed. Though she does not actively seek fights, the Tribunus will not stand and watch as her home and people are slandered, nor will she take such insults to the face without remark.Be them Garlean or not, Maz cares little about a person's origin, treating them all the same so long as they have basic decency. Due to her relations with her brother and the Murga siblings, she does hold a certain gentle sympathy for conscripts, especially those in specific legions.
Feline in an Unfamiliar Land
Requirements: Kugane resident or member of the city's underworld.
Mazerin has found herself caring for regular business trades in the busy Hingan port city every other week. Those who are regulars around the docks or mayhap the Garlean embassy may even spot the miqo'te as she travels.Individuals more familiar with the more seedy side of the city may take closer notice in the Garlean's yakuza business partners. Any aware of the Kurokawa Group may see her regularly meet with the head of the family.
A Drink or Two
Requirements: None.
A well brewed cup of high quality tea is enough to bring a simple smile to the assassin's face. One can sometimes find Maz enjoying early mornings with a steaming cup of steeped leaves with just a touch of cream and sugar. Though she is preferable to the silence, she is not likely to turn down some company and share a drink.In the evenings, her drink of choice turns to the deeper, richer flavours of scotches. Her ever growing collection is something she takes pride in, sometimes even willing to sit and share her favourites and take about the notes within the drinks. An invite out to a bar is not her usual way to spend nights, though it is rare for her to deny it.
Home Away from Home
Requirements: Ishgardian citizen or resident.
Home for Mazerin will always be Garlemald, though there are circumstances that have her taking an extended leave from the snowy peeks of Ilsabard. Instead her newfound abode resides in the cold city of Ishgard, left to deal with the friendliness of the locals.Those who reside in the city may have taken note of the half-miqo'te wandering the market for groceries, or perhaps tending to her garden within Empyreum. Mayhap they have heard rumors of the Garlean siblings that own property within the residential district.
